Bag #10!

Bag #10 is the final bag of the second collection! It is a bag of pure opportunity. A scrap of blue and white gingham fabric was lying next to a scrap of red and white striped fabric... and the rest was history. Bag #10 was left at a bus stop across the street from the Thrift Town in San Leandro, CA.I left it there before going into the store-- and it was still there when I came out an hour later! Bag #9!

Bag #9 is the fourth bag of the second collection. It has a brown polyester body, plaid woven straps, and appliques made from found bird fabric and an old umbrella. Its future destination has yet to be determined, but will be updated here soon.

Bag #8 is the 3rd bag of the 2nd collection. It has gingham flannel straps, a woven plaid body, and a bird applique from a piece of found fabric. Bag #8 was left with a friend in Oakland...

Bag #6 is the first bag of Community Baggage's second collection. It is made from found white canvas, brown polyester, and a woven plaid. Bag #6 was left at the amazing leave-a-book-take-a-book box at the intersection of Larkin and California street in San Francisco.

Bag #5!

#5, the arrow bag, is made out of a greyish denim and is adorned with a red linen arrow. It is the final bag of the first collection! Bag #5 was left on a tree in San Francisco on 17th street, right by San Carlos.

Bag #3!

Bag #3 is made from a rescued vintage curtain, and is the first of the collection to have a handy inner pocket for easy to access stuff.

Bag #4

Bag #4 is made from white muslin, has a blue gingham flannel stripe, and contrasting plaid cotton straps. It is the first of the collection to have an inner-pocket for things that you want to have easy access to.

Bag #4 was left in the super-awesome "take-a-book, leave-a-book" box at the corner of California & Larkin Streets.

Bag #2 is made from vintage curtains that I rescued from a free box, some excess red linen, and a pair of pants that were once pretty great.

This is the first bag that was made for the collection!
It is sewn from found red and white candy-striped canvas and has a wide red ribbon handle.


It has been put into a donation bag that is destined for Out of the Closet on Polk Street in San Francisco.
